Thoughts & Inspiration

Hi everyone,

Hope you all are doing well. I landed in GA Monday morning and have been spending the last few days at training camp. Tonight (Wednesday) is actually my last full day of training camp! It definitely has been a more traditional training camp experience for me compared to last years trip. We haven’t had flushing toilets or real showers, but God is still good. The day consists of sermon style teachings, fun ethnic themed meals, and team bonding. It’s been really sweet bring back in this state again.

The team had gotten more logistical details of what’s going on once we get to North Carolina. Like I mentioned before, we will be supporting the Black Mountain home for children. Once we arrived in GA, news broke we won’t be supporting the children directly but rather working in their coffee shop and thrift shop. That news was honestly a little disappointing but the Lord has worked though that. One of the teachings was about faithful obedience. For example, Moses, he led the Israelites in the desert for 40 years and never got into the promise land. He never saw the fruit of his labor yet still was faithful and obedient to the lord. I think in a similar way, I was originally disappointed to not directly be working with the children at the orphanage, but that doesn’t mean God isn’t working. It doesn’t mean he isn’t using me. I may never see the direct “fruit of my labor” but God is still using us.

Like mentioned before, my team is leaving for North Carolina tomorrow (Thurs) in the morning/ early afternoon. It’s a 3 hour drive and I’m a little excited haha. Please pray for us as we begin ministry. Well first pray for a safe drive but yes also pray that our ministry will be fruitful and we will all serve out of a place of love rather than obligation.

Some other prayer requests:
– one of my teammates has pots syndrome and it’s been really bad for her lately. It’s like painful. So pray for her that it won’t flare and she’ll still be able to serve well
– pray that our team will continue to bond and grow together on deeper levels.
– and pray that we will continue to actively engage with the Lord throughout the trip

Thank you for your continuous prayer over my trip and team.
Allison
P.S.  Everyone tested negative for covid on the first day of training.
